What is hard water? Plus

Hard water contains high levels of elements like chlorine and heavy metals, which can negatively impact your hair and skin health. Not to mention ruining your hair colour.

How does water with chlorine and minerals impact my skin? Plus

The minerals and chlorine in treated water can strip away your skin’s natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. Over time, this can weaken your skin’s barrier, making it more sensitive and prone to irritation.

Can chlorine cause breakouts? Plus

chlorine can react with your skin’s natural oils, turning them into a wax-like texture that blocks your pores, leading to irritation and breakouts, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Can heavy metals in water damage my hair? Plus

Heavy metals like lead and copper can cause dryness, dullness and even breakage. Prolonged exposure can interfere with your hairs natural moisture barrier. The heavy metals can also build up in your hair over time, causing issues with hair colour reactions or results not lasting as expected.

Can heavy metals in water damage my skin? Plus

Heavy metals like lead and copper can cause dryness, redness, and even long term inflammation. Prolonged exposure can interfere with your skin’s natural detoxification process, making it harder for your body to eliminate toxins and potentially increasing the risk of skin conditions over time.

Does chlorine in water make skin conditions like eczema worse? Plus

Chlorine can aggravate conditions like eczema by further drying out the skin and breaking down its protective barrier, triggering flare-ups and increased irritation.

How do I know if my water contains chlorine and heavy metals? Plus

You may notice dryness in your skin and hair after showering or a noticeable smell of chlorine. For exact levels, please check your local water quality report or use an at-home water testing kit.
